In December 2022, Tim and Sasha Robertson of what was soon to become Rampart Street Garage arrived in Philadelphia to make Tim’s next record. Tim had 19 songs almost finished and ready to record over the next six to eight months. As they settled into their Airbnb, Tim pulled out his guitar to warm up his hands after two long days of traveling. What happened next can only be described as inspiration; “In The End” was finished within minutes.

Producer Brian McTear added the drum machine track during the first recording week. Tim and Sasha finished the third verse during one of their long car rides. Though new to Tim, this collaborative process proved to be a powerful force in the creation “In The End” He notes how important the contributions of Sasha, Amy Morrissey, and Brian McTear were.

The subject matter of the song focuses on Tim’s observations about death after losing his mother and some other people in his life.
