Not Now, Not Ever

"Not Now, Not Ever" was a song originally titled "This Is The End," written back in 2012. When we decided to revisit this song, we immediately started thinking of musicians who could give the song a fresh perspective. The fact we knew a talent like Zach Quinn, a local punk heavyweight, allowed us to bring an entirely different feeling to the song. Tim Robertson was acquainted with Zach after recording demo songs for him in his late teens. Tim worked with Matt Janise on Bourbon St. for many years. We knew his  "attack-style" drumming was just what the track needed. Having Dave Pomerleau play bass on this track was an honor, as we have long enjoyed his musicianship. The recording came together quickly; we knocked out the basic tracks in about 3 hours, and Zach rewrote some of the lyrics and laid down a blistering vocal with what was left of the day.  There is no way the group could have been so efficient if not for the expertise of engineer James Whitten at Hightower Recording. The song was originally a riff on the things people say to you as you come off stage, and the assumption you need guidance in your area of expertise. It explores some of the unflattering interactions between band and staff at entertainment events. Zach picked up on this idea and expanded it in his own way.
